Rates and amounts as printed in Item 6. Shares of sales are Averan calculations on the $307,908 average for the 297 units. The per-inspection share uses $748.16*, the average job across the 277 units grouped by inspectors (their total sales divided by total jobs implied by each group’s average sales and job size). EZBook Connections booking ($34.35 an inspection, optional), PTPFloorplan and PTPVirtualOpenHouse are not included.
The royalty is 7% of gross revenues or a monthly minimum, whichever is greater. The minimum is $0 for the first 12 months after the training completion date and rises each year to $2,328 a month from month 49, which is $27,936 a year*. It equals 7% of $399,086* in annual sales.
At the $307,908 average, Averan puts the recurring charges at 17.64% of sales* using the 7% rate. For a unit past month 48 the minimum royalty applies at that sales level, and the total rises to 19.71%*.
Applied to the group averages, the charges are 31.23%* of sales for Group A and 15.77%* for Group D. These figures assume a unit past month 48, so the royalty is $27,936 for Groups A and B and 7% for Groups C and D. Group B comes to 21.85%* and Group C to 17.25%*.
Units that use EZBook Connections pay $34.35 for each booked inspection, or $30.55 when they book 90% or more through it. Units that do not use it must employ a full-time person to answer the phone and book inspections.
Other charges include a $4,000 transfer fee, a $15,000 referral fee if the franchisor refers the buyer, and a $2,500 renewal fee.
