For CPA firms whose clients need their books kept
By Scott Engler · Averan Advisors · Updated 3 October 2026
Averan Advisors keeps the books and closes the month for small and mid-sized businesses. We do not prepare or file tax returns. Your client keeps you as their CPA, and you file from books we have reconciled and closed.
What you get from a client we work with
- Books reconciled and closed by the same date every month, with every bank, card and loan account tied to its statement.
- Accountant access to the client's QuickBooks Online or Intuit Enterprise Suite file, so you can look whenever you need to.
- A year-end package by the date you set. It holds the trial balance, a balance sheet with every account tied to a statement, fixed asset additions with their invoices, loan statements, payroll reports, and owner contributions and distributions labeled as such.
- A vendor list for 1099s with a W-9 on file for each vendor we pay.
- Your questions about the books answered in one batch, by a person who closed them.
What stays with you
Averan Advisors does not prepare or file tax returns, give tax advice, make entity elections or answer IRS notices. When a client asks us a tax question, we send it to you. Your engagement with the client does not change when we start.
Clients we take on
- Owners with more than one location or legal entity, including franchise owners.
- Companies on QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop or Intuit Enterprise Suite.
- Companies whose books are months behind, which we catch up before the monthly work starts.
- Government contractors that need indirect rates and incurred cost work kept current.
How an introduction works
- You send an email introducing the client to scott@averanadvisors.com.
- We review the client's QuickBooks file with read-only access.
- We send the client a written scope with the monthly fee and the close date.
- You get accountant access to the file once the client signs.
- We close the first month on the date in the scope, and copy you on the year-end package each year.
Fees
The client pays Averan Advisors directly under the written scope. We do not pay referral fees and we do not accept them.
