  1. Required local advertising is larger than the royalty. At the $2,319,751 average, 7% local advertising comes to $162,383* and the 5% royalty to $115,988*, a difference of $46,395*. The advertising is spent by the franchisee in its own market; the royalty is paid to the franchisor.
  2. The five reporting locations billed $2,039,219 to $2,875,450 in 2025. The highest is 1.41 times the lowest*. The median of $2,197,292 is 5.3%* below the average, and two of the five met or exceeded the average.
  3. The cost to open runs from $130,700 to $630,500, and shop equipment accounts for most of the difference. Shop equipment runs $1,000 to $350,000, which is $349,000* of the $499,800* gap between the two totals, or 69.8%*. Item 7 says the high end includes the equipment to manufacture the product.
  4. The local advertising minimum is $8,000 a month. The 7% rate is higher than the minimum in any month with Gross Revenues above $114,286*. The lowest reporting location’s 2025 revenue works out at $169,935 a month*; Item 19 gives no monthly figures.
  5. Franchised locations fell from 8 to 6 between the start of 2023 and the end of 2025, with no openings. One California location ceased operations in 2024 and the franchisor reacquired one New Jersey location in 2025. No franchise agreements were signed but not opened at the end of 2025.

How Averan works with Closet & Storage Concepts franchise owners

Everything above came out of a filing. Doing it on your own numbers means the books have to produce the same lines: sales, wages, occupancy, fees and what is left, by location, every month. That is the work.

  1. The call takes thirty minutesYou describe the business and where the numbers are letting you down. We give you an expert view of your situation, and what we would start with. There is no pitch deck.
  2. We look at the fileYou give us read access to the books as they are. We come back with what is wrong, what it will take to fix, and whether the answer is bookkeeping, controller work, or something else.
  3. We send a written scope and a priceIt lists what we do each month, what you get, the date it lands and the fee. We agree it before anything starts, and it does not change unless you agree.
  4. We take over the books and close the first monthWe set up access and systems and enter the opening balances. The first close lands on the date in the scope, and every one after it does too.
