Not included: additional email licenses ($15 a month each), convention fees (up to $1,500 a person), the transfer fee ($5,000), renewal, training, late and optional marketing service fees. Item 6 fees may rise by up to 10% a year.
At the $708,411 business average, the royalty, brand fund and fixed monthly fees come to $72,637*, or 10.25%* of sales. The local marketing minimum adds $42,505*, which takes the total with local marketing to 16.25%*. Local marketing is paid to third parties, not to the brand.
The minimum royalty is larger than 7% of sales below $85,714* a year in months 1–12, $171,429* in months 13–24 and $257,143* from month 25. The royalties, brand fund and tech fees each business reported differ from the published schedule. Applying 7% (or the $18,000 minimum where higher), 2% and $8,880* of fixed fees to each business’s sales gives $137,080* for Pittsburgh, $51,118* for Toledo and $31,510* for Beaver. The filed figures were $139,991, $13,769 and $40,475: 2.1%* above, 73.1%* below and 28.5%* above. The FDD does not explain the differences.

The initial franchise fee is $49,500 for a territory of up to 250,000 people, plus $0.25 for each person above that. The brand does not grant territories above 262,500 people, so the fee tops out at $52,625. In 2025 the fee charged ranged from $0 to $50,000 after waivers, discounts and refunds.
Territories bought at the same time cost less. A second territory is $40,000, a third $35,000 and a fourth or later $30,000. Veterans and first responders may receive 10% off their first territory.
Pittsburgh’s 6 territories average 286,265* people, above the current 262,500 limit. Toledo’s 2 average 315,732* and Beaver’s 1 holds 353,619. The FDD does not say when these territories were drawn.
