- X-Golf had 129 franchised stores and 4 affiliate-owned stores at the end of 2025, with 14 franchised openings and 6 franchised stores leaving the system that year.
- An X-Golf franchisee must open within 12 months of signing, and the franchisor may grant up to three paid extensions of $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000.

The royalty is 7% and the marketing fund 1% of adjusted gross sales, paid monthly. Adjusted gross sales exclude refunds, sales tax and sales of prepaid cards, but include card redemptions and membership and lesson payments when the customer pays.
A market cooperative can require up to 5% of adjusted gross sales. Item 6 says a cooperative exists in the Chicago market and one is being organized in Boston.
Other fees apply in specific cases. Replacement or additional manager training is $3,500; transfer and renewal fees are $15,000 each; a non-compliance fee is $250 per instance. Item 6 also lists a $2,000 annual fee for approving games-of-chance machines in Illinois.
Item 3 describes litigation over extra royalty payments in Michigan. Michigan franchisees signed consulting agreements with a separate company, X-Golf Michigan, LLC, under which they paid up to an additional 4% royalty. The franchisor’s counterclaim says these agreements were made without its knowledge or consent.

Item 7 estimates $1,153,500 to $1,803,850 to open. The figure assumes a leased space of 5,500 to 10,000 square feet built out from a vanilla shell. Of the total, $407,850 to $536,850 is paid to the franchisor’s parent company for simulators.
The simulators are 35.4% of the low estimate and 29.8% of the high estimate*. Item 7 bases the estimate on about $70,000 per simulator, including installation and shipping. Half is due on ordering and half before shipping.
The initial franchise fee is $40,000. In 2025 it ranged from $25,000 to $40,000. Veterans and active-duty military personnel receive a 10% discount on a first franchise agreement.
A store must open within 12 months of signing. Item 11 gives a typical time to open of 4 to 12 months and requires a signed lease within 4 months. The franchisor may grant a 90-day extension for $5,000, a second 90 days for $10,000 and a final 60 to 90 days for $15,000, $30,000 in all*.
The territory is a mileage radius set by the franchisor. It is not exclusive: the franchisor may place stores in non-traditional venues such as malls, airports, stadiums and highway exits inside it. In a dense downtown area the territory may be under one mile.
