  1. Item 19 gives full-year sales for one school and monthly first-year sales for 19 franchised schools. The Newport School, in Costa Mesa, California, was owned by an affiliate until April 2024 and then by a franchisee. It had $510,761 of gross sales in 2025. The 19 franchised schools are reported month by month from presale to month 12.
  2. Median monthly gross sales rose from $4,430 in month 1 to $11,620 in month 12. The number of schools reporting falls from 19 in month 1 to 5 in month 12. The twelve monthly medians add to $107,932*, which is not any one school’s total.
  3. Schools with more presale sales reported higher sales in month 6. The seven schools with more than $23,000 of presale averaged $29,204 of presale* and $13,981 in month 6*. The four with under $10,000 averaged $7,102* and $3,620*. Katy opened on $3,120 of presale and reported $14,363 in month 12.
  4. Fixed monthly charges come to $2,657 a month*. That is a $260 technology fee, $300 for Momence software, $1,500 of paid digital advertising and the vendor’s $597 management fee: $31,884 a year*, or 6.24% of the Newport School’s 2025 sales*.
  5. The royalty minimum rises each year of the franchise agreement, from $500 to $2,000 a month. At 7%, the $2,000 minimum applies below $28,571 of monthly sales*, or $342,857 a year*. The minimum years count from signing the franchise agreement, and Item 11 puts opening six to nine months after signing.

How Averan works with New Mom School franchise owners

Everything above came out of a filing. Doing it on your own numbers means the books have to produce the same lines: sales, wages, occupancy, fees and what is left, by location, every month. That is the work.

  1. The call takes thirty minutesYou describe the business and where the numbers are letting you down. We give you an expert view of your situation, and what we would start with. There is no pitch deck.
  2. We look at the fileYou give us read access to the books as they are. We come back with what is wrong, what it will take to fix, and whether the answer is bookkeeping, controller work, or something else.
  3. We send a written scope and a priceIt lists what we do each month, what you get, the date it lands and the fee. We agree it before anything starts, and it does not change unless you agree.
  4. We take over the books and close the first monthWe set up access and systems and enter the opening balances. The first close lands on the date in the scope, and every one after it does too.
