Benchmark findings

The findings, as the data comes in.

This page will publish the aggregate results of the EOS Finance Benchmark as responses accumulate. We report real numbers only, nothing here is estimated or placeholder data.

Collecting responses now. The benchmark is live and gathering data. We'll publish the first findings here once the sample is large enough to be meaningful, and we'll be transparent about the sample size behind every number.

What we'll report

When the findings publish, they'll cover the questions implementers most want answered with real data:

  • How often the finance seat is the constraint on traction, even when the rest of EOS runs well
  • How frequently a green Scorecard still hides a profit or cash problem
  • The share of companies operating below the finance seat their complexity requires
  • The finance failures implementers see most often
  • Where a strong finance seat creates the most lift
  • The most common signals that a company has outgrown its finance seat

Every figure will be reported with its sample size, and the methodology will be described plainly. No number goes on this page unless the data supports it.

Help build the picture

The findings are only as good as the sample. If you implement EOS, add your view.

How to read these findings

Each figure below is the share of responding companies, not a projection to the whole EOS community. Where a group is too small to report anonymously it is left out rather than estimated.

The most useful comparison is not against the average. It is against the companies one level above you on the maturity model, because that is the gap you would be closing next.

Where this leaves your own numbers

If the close lands late, the Scorecard is an estimate, or nobody owns the numbers between L10s, that is the gap the finance seat fills. Start with the readiness check, or talk it through with us.

What happens next

The close, the Scorecard and the cash forecast all need somebody accountable for them between L10s. That is what the finance seat is, and it is what we do.

  1. The call, twenty minutesYou describe the business and where the numbers are letting you down. We tell you honestly whether we can help, and what we would start with. No pitch deck.
  2. We look at the fileYou give us read access to the books as they are. We come back with what is wrong, what it will take to fix, and whether the answer is bookkeeping, controller work, or something else.
  3. A written scope and a priceWhat we do each month, what you get, the date it lands, and the fee. Agreed before anything starts, and it does not move without you agreeing it.
  4. Transition, then the first closeAccess, systems, and the opening balances. The first close lands on the date in the scope, and every one after it does too.

Averan is not a CPA firm and does not file taxes. Your CPA keeps that, and we keep the books they file from.
